Signs Your Dog Has Separation Anxiety

Your dog may have one or more of these signs of separation anxiety when you leave them alone:

  • Druelling and panting 

  • Pacing and unsettled behaviours

  • Barking and vocalising

  • Unable to eat when you are not present

  • Withdrawn or retreats away

  • Soiling the house

  • Scratching or being destructive

  • Self harming using hair plucking or licking or chewing themselves

This is not an exhaustive list but gives an idea of what to look for.

Meet Odie, the first dog I had with separation anxiety

Odie was a rescue dog that had been left in a crate since a puppy for 9 hours a day. Being a Beagle they have a tendency to struggle alone and the stress of being left from a young age left him being rehomed at 5 months old.

​

He was in kennels at the rehoming centre and i couldn't let him suffer so I straight away agreed to rehome and rehabilitate him. 

​

I was a behaviourist after all - how hard could it be?

​

Well this is where everything changed, I had a new perspective on what dog parents experience and boy oh boy I really feel peoples pain when they come to me for help.

​

The good news is Odie is fully rehabilitated and I have since gone on on to rehome and rehabilitate many more. Trust me when I say I understand what your going through.

  • The programme will guide you through a personalised and tailored plan to gradually expose your dog to being left alone

  • The entire process is conducted via Zoom because we won't be able to train alone time if I am there too

  • Each week I give you easy to follow 5 step plans based on our consultations and progress

  • I support you in between via Whats App and keep you on track with your dog with help and check ins
